Terms of Use

The terms that apply to this website and to the use of the Edugent platform by institutions and their authorised users.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Use apply to www.edugent.in and to the Edugent platform — the web admin, the parent and student portal and the mobile app — provided by Plurigent Technologies Private Limited ("Plurigent", "we", "us"). By using the website or the platform, you agree to these terms.

2. The Edugent service

Edugent is provided to institutions under a subscription agreement or order with Plurigent. That agreement sets out the modules, commercial terms and service commitments for the institution. If it conflicts with these terms, the agreement prevails for that institution.

3. Accounts and access

  • Access to the platform is given by your institution, according to your role.
  • Keep your login details and one-time passwords confidential, and do not share your account.
  • You are responsible for activity carried out through your account.
  • Tell your institution, or write to us at [email protected], if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

4. Institution responsibilities

Each institution using Edugent is responsible for:

  • having a lawful basis, including any required consent, for the personal data it records in Edugent;
  • informing its students, parents, guardians and staff about how their data is used;
  • the accuracy of the data it enters, including fee amounts, attendance and results;
  • deciding which users get access and what each role can see;
  • its own fee, refund and academic policies.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the website or platform for any unlawful purpose;
  • access data you are not authorised to see, or attempt to bypass security or access controls;
  • upload malicious code, or interfere with or overload the service;
  • copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell any part of the platform;
  • upload content that is unlawful, abusive or infringes the rights of others.

6. Fees and online payments

Institution fees shown in Edugent are set by the institution. Online payments are processed by third-party payment gateways under their own terms. Questions about fee amounts, refunds or payment disputes should be raised with the institution. Charges for the Edugent subscription are governed by the institution's agreement with Plurigent.

7. Data ownership

The institution owns the data it records in Edugent. It grants Plurigent the rights needed to host and process that data to provide, secure and support the service. How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual property

The Edugent software, website, name, logos and related material belong to Plurigent or its licensors. Using the service does not give you ownership of any of them.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Edugent available and reliable. Access may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We may improve or change features over time.

10. Third-party services

Edugent relies on third-party services such as hosting providers, message delivery services and payment gateways. Their services are subject to their own terms.

11. Disclaimer

Except as set out in the institution's agreement with Plurigent, the website and platform are provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Plurigent is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from the use of the website or platform. Liability towards institutions is governed by their agreement with Plurigent.

13. Suspension and termination

We or your institution may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if your institution's subscription ends, or where required to protect the service or other users.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction in India.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.
